Didn't escape Anchorage

Didn’t escape Anchorage

Woke early to do all the briefings and paperwork with the RV. Did a practice drive going round and round the carpark at the RV place, adjusting to driving on the wrong side of the vehicle, and understanding what 30 feet of 12 foot high RV was like. Weather was raining/ showery.

Hit the road, chose not to use Tomtom and asked locals for the shops. Loaded up with food and goodies and headed down town to 6th Ave Outfitters (with Tomtoms help) and the tourist shops. Parking a 30’ RV in a downtown area becomes interesting, luckily it was a Saturday arvo. Grabbed some Bear Spray, noted their stocks were low, bought an MSR water filter for half the price in Australia, found a shop with $5 T’shirts, and some very tasteful tourist shops, whoops, there goes the budget.

The afternoon saw us hit a barrier with Jetlag and so we headed to Centenary Park Camp Ground, lovely woodland setting, but 1 Star bathrooms, showers. Average for $25.

Weather: Rain periods, showers in Anchorage.
